Delusions of Grandeur
The belief or misbelief that you are more powerful than you really are.
"Frank's delusions of grandeur began when he was promoted to
a position of leadership within the company."
When a job vacancy is advertised in a newspaper, many people will apply for the position. A large number of job applicants will send off their resumes, and wait to be called up for an interview with the employer. If the job offers a high salary and good benefits, the number of people applying will double. Employers will go through and screen out hundreds of applications, and short-list the number of applicants to six or seven. The short-listed applicants will then be called in for an interview with the employer. After the interview, the employer will decide on who to hire based on their qualifications and work experience in a similar job.
